- Lorna Rose,the Sultry,Virtuoso Singer and Soprano-Saxophonist has been with the Womens Jazz Coalition with enterpeneur Cobi Narita. Lorna has a B.A. in music/EarlyChildhoodEdu. from the State Universsity at Old Westbury. She studied under her teacher the late Makanda Ken McIintyre.(At SUNY/OldWestbury,Makanda founded and chaired the American Music,Dance and Theatre Program which grew quickly under his direction, becoming one of the most progressive and highly acclaimed performing arts program in the nation.)Lorna's beautiful sound on the soprano is reminiscent of the great Sidney Betchet. It's the same sound that got her to play at former mayor Dinkins Birthday Party at the Sheraton, the Opening Ceremony at the Windows of the World Archives and a riveting performance of "Lush Life" at St Peter's Church.
